Apex court adjourns case hearing of Vijay Mallya regarding the contempt of case

The Top court adjourned the case to Thursday hearing on a petition related to the appearance of controversial Businessman Vijay Mallya.

Vijay Mallya is presently accused in a big  bank loan case of over Rupees Nine thousand crores involving his Kingfisher Airlines and in a court  contempt case.

The bench composed of  justices U U Lalit, S Ravindra Bhat and P S Narasimha today adjourned the contempt case for next on Thursday at 2pm 

Senior advocate and amicus curiae Jaideep Gupta asked for this adjournment on the basis that he’s arguing some other cases and busy in those matters.

Earlier on 10th February, Pinnacle court made clear that the hearing was to be fixed today but due to Gupta’s request they adjourned now.

SG Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Union Government had said the court has complete authority regarding the jurisdiction in contempt cases.

Vijay Mallya has been living in London since 2016 March He is presently on bail on an extradition warrant executed 3 years ago by the Scotland Yard on 18th April, 2017.
