However, the Court found the prosecution's case fatally flawed: multiple related witnesses provided contradictory statements with unexplained improvements from FIR to trial; no recovered weapons bore bloodstains; medical evidence showed no injuries consistent with violent beating; no eyewitness observed the fatal injury; and key independent witnesses were not examined. The Court held that appellate courts must not interfere with acquittals absent compelling grounds, and mere reappraisal reaching a different conclusion is insufficient. The broken chain of circumstantial evidence failed to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt.
