Manjoor Khan vs State of Rajasthan & Ors

Bench: 1 — <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

Multiple petitioners challenged notices from the Gram Panchayat demanding they relinquish possession of land allegedly situated within or near the boundary of a Government school. The petitioners claimed long possession and construction on Aabadi land. The High Court declined to adjudicate the possession dispute directly. Instead, it disposed of the writ petitions by directing petitioners to approach the District Collector, Jaisalmer, or competent authority to seek regularisation of their possession under the State's Swamitva Yojana scheme (notified 18 January 2021). The authority is to consider applications strictly in accordance with law, preferably within six weeks."
