The Top court today refused to take a plea regarding the cancellation of physical appearance in board exams for classes 10 and 12 to be organised by Central Board of Secondary Education and other respective boards NIOS and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE).

The bench headed by Justice A M Khanwilkar comprising Justices Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and C T Ravikumar noted that such a petition makes “bad hope” and “uncertainty” for all the students.

The Supreme Court said that its earlier judgement on postponing the examination can’t be a rule to get through the present order for this academic calendar as well.

The bench further said that “Let the students do their studies properly and let the boards do their arrangements properly”.

Meanwhile; Advocates on behalf of the petitioners, informed the court that the top court earlier passed orders in 2020 and 2021 in the aspect of class 10 and 12 public exams and this year also, the similar issues are there at present.

The bench clearly stated that educational boards know well about the actual circumstances and are well sound to make a stand. That's why we should not interfere.

Yesterday petitioners had informed the Chief Justice of India that offline examination shouldn’t be organised because of the present pandemic.

CBSE already declared the schedule for 10 and 12  classes' second term exams. The second term exams are going to be held from April 26. On the other hand, CISCE most probably to organise the ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 exam in the fourth week during the month of April.
