Telangana High Court to go Paperless from November 01, 2023

The Telangana High Court is geared to go paperless from November 01, 2023. After the Supreme Court of India transitioned to a paperless system in July 2023, the Telangana HC is all set to follow the same. An official notice has been published that states, “As directed by the Hon’ble the Chief Justice, it is hereby informed to all the learned advocates and parties-in-person that with effect from 1st November 2023, the Hon’ble First Court of the High Court for the state of Telangana will function in paperless mode.” The notice further reads, “All the learned advocates and parties-in-person are requested to email an electronic copy (soft copy) of all the cases/ applications filed before the Hon’ble First Court to the following email ID with effect from 31st October 2023 before filing the hard copy in the New Filing Section: [email protected].” It was further directed to the advocates/ parties to file a hard copy, with an endorsement of having submitted the soft, before the New Filing Section. 

On October 19, 2023, Chief Justice of the Telangana HC, Justice Alok Aradhe, inaugurated the Digitization Wing in the newly constructed fourth floor of the C Block in the presence of the judges and other law officers of the HC. In this context, the Telangana HC reached a milestone in record digitization. A press note highlighted that “the newly inaugurated digitization wing is provided with 15000 sq. ft. With the additional space provided and the increase in scanners and manpower, it is expected that 2500 case records will be digitized per day”. This initiative of digitizing judicial and administrative records was carried out in collaboration with M/s. Stock holding Document Management Services Limited, Mumbai.
