The Supreme Court of India allowed Activist Gautam Navlakha who was jailed for House Arrest regarding health concerns

The Top Court today allowed activist Gautam Navlakha who was jailed on his request for house arrest, noting that prima facie is ill so there’s no option to strike out his health file.

Two judge Bench composed of justices KMJoseph and Hrishikesh Roy delivered that the house arrest notice must be implemented within the time period of 2 days.

The Top court also ordered the activist Gautam Navlakha to deposit Rupees 2.4 lakh, a predicted money by which the National Investigation Agency (NIA) declares as expenditure for getting obtainable police personnel at his residence.

The bench further noted that the activist Gautam Navlakha will not be permitted to use any broadband to access the internet and also personal computer devices at the time of his 30 day house arrest.

The seventy year old Gautam Navlakha is staying in jail due to punishment in relation to the Elgar Parishad-Maoist association case.
