Section 160 CrPC Modified In the first proviso, "sixty - five years" is replaced by "sixty years" and the words "or a person with acute illness" are added. One new proviso is added. Thus, the scope of the provision is expanded .

Section 179 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 deals with police officer's power to Require attendance of Witnesses. Under the old law this was Section 160 of the CrPC.
