Section 311A CrPC Modified The words "or finger impressions" and “ or voice sample" are added. O ne new proviso added which provides that the Magistrate may, for reasons to be recorded in writing, order any person to give such a specimen or sample without him being arrested.

Section 349 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 deals with power of Magistrate to order Person to give specimen Signatures or handwriting. Under the old law this was Section 311A of the CrPC.
