Section 240 CrPC - Framing of charge

Section 240 CrPC is now Section 263 of the BNSS - the BNSS replaced the CrPC on 1 July 2024.

Section 263 BNSS	Modified	Time limit for framing of charge against the accused is added within a period of sixty days from the date of first hearing on charge.

Section 240 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 deals with framing of charge. Under the new law this is Section 263 of the BNSS.
