Section 265B CrPC - Application for plea Bargaining

Section 265B CrPC is now Section 290 of the BNSS - the BNSS replaced the CrPC on 1 July 2024.

Section 290 BNSS	Modified	Time limit for plea bargaining "within a period of thirty days from the date of framing of charge" is added in subsection (1). 290 (4) (a) "not exceeding sixty days" is added, regarding accused to work out a mutually satisfactory disposition of the case". The w ords “as the case may be” excluded.

Section 265B of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 deals with application for plea Bargaining. Under the new law this is Section 290 of the BNSS.
