Section 281 CrPC - Record of examination of Accused

Section 281 CrPC is now Section 316 of the BNSS - the BNSS replaced the CrPC on 1 July 2024.

CrPC → BNSS: what changed

This section	Change	Remarks
Section 316 BNSS	Modified	"a Metropolitan Magistrate" is replaced by "any Magistrate, or by a Court of Session," and sub - sections related to a metropolitan Magistrate are excluded. A new proviso is added to 316 (4) "where the accused is in custody and is examined through electronic communication, his signature shall be taken within seventy - two hours of such examination. ”

Section 281 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 deals with record of examination of Accused. Under the new law this is Section 316 of the BNSS.
