Section 375 IPC - Rape definition

Section 375 IPC is now Section 63 of the BNS - the BNS replaced the IPC on 1 July 2024.

This section	Change	Remarks
Section 63 BNS	Modified	Age of Consent: 15 years is replaced by 18 years in BNS. Exception 2 of Section 63 states that “sexual intercourse or acts by a man with his wife, the wife not being under 18 years of age, is not rape”.

Section 375 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 deals with rape definition. Under the new law this is Section 63 of the BNS.
