About Section 34 BNS
Section 34 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS) states the foundation of the right of private defence : nothing is an offence which is done in the exercise of the right of private defence. It is the old Section 96 IPC , renumbered into the new code without any change in text.
