Supreme Court of India 2017-09-07 remanded

Allahabad Bank & Ors vs Ishwar Saran & Ors

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

Employees of Allahabad Bank sought pension under the 1995 Pension Regulation and family pension. The Bank argued they were only entitled to the 2010 Scheme as they had not exercised a valid option for the 1995 Regulation, while employees claimed they had exercised a belated option. The Supreme Court found the issues seriously disputed and remitted the matter to the High Court for full merits consideration, directing expeditious disposal preferably within six months, without constraining the High Court's analysis of any contentions available to the parties."
