In Brief
Amba Bai and others appealed a partition dispute to the Supreme Court. During the pendency of the Special Leave Petition (converted to a civil appeal), the parties negotiated and reached an amicable settlement. The parties executed a signed Memorandum of Compromise dated 27 April 2016, which was filed before the Court. The Supreme Court, noting the cooperative spirit of both parties and their legal representatives, disposed of the appeal by incorporating the Memorandum of Compromise as part of the decree, with no costs awarded.
