In Brief
The Supreme Court dismissed an appeal challenging interim bail granted by the Punjab & Haryana High Court to three school executives (Ryan Pinto, Dr. Augustine Francis Pinto, and Grace Pinto) in connection with the murder of a seven-year-old student at Ryan International School. Although no direct allegations were made against them in the FIR and the CBI investigation found no evidence of their involvement, the High Court had granted interim bail with conditions. The Court held that interim bail was justified because: there were no direct allegations against them; the CBI had not found any pointer of their complicity; and reasonable conditions (interrogation availability, no leaving India) were imposed. The appeal was dismissed as there were no grounds to interfere with the High Court's reasoned order."
