Central Bureau of Investigation vs Karti P Chidambaram & Ors

Bench: 3 — <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

The Supreme Court granted limited permission to respondent Karti P. Chidambaram to travel to the United Kingdom from 1–10 December 2017 to facilitate his daughter's college admission at Cambridge, despite a Look-out Circular issued against him. The permission was conditional on filing an undertaking with flight details and returning by the deadline. The Court clarified that this ad interim order, granted with the consent of the investigating agency (CBI), does not determine the legality of the Look-out Circular itself and shall not prejudice the main proceedings on the SLP.
