The Supreme Court quashed three interim orders passed by the Rajasthan High Court in an appeal concerning interim relief under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The High Court had directed production of original stamp papers, called for criminal investigation reports and case diaries, summoned the investigating officer, and transferred a criminal investigation to a special unit. The Court held that appeals under Section 37 of the 1996 Act are strictly limited to examining interim relief orders from commercial courts and cannot be used to supervise or interfere with criminal investigations. Such interference exceeds the appellate court's jurisdiction and constitutes misuse of the arbitration process.
