The Supreme Court transferred three writ petitions challenging or seeking directions regarding the Agnipath recruitment scheme from itself to the Delhi High Court. Finding that multiple petitions on the same subject were pending before different High Courts, the Court held that consolidating all proceedings to itself would deprive it of the benefit of a considered High Court view. Instead, petitions before other High Courts were permitted to either transfer to Delhi or remain pending while petitioners intervene there. The Delhi High Court was requested to set cases for expeditious disposal after hearing parties.
