For the Govt. of Puduchery : Mr vs G. Pragasam, AOR, Mr. S. Prabu Ramasubramanian, Adv., Mr. S. Manuraj, Advocate

Bench: 2 — <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

In this matter involving witness protection and POCSO Court status, the Supreme Court clarified that CRPF security provided to an applicant/witness must accompany him during travel to Delhi or Lucknow. The Court also reviewed the establishment of exclusive POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Courts across Indian States. The Court appreciated Rajasthan's initiative and called for other States to establish dedicated POCSO Courts in each district. Further extensions were granted for CBI investigation and chargesheet filing in related criminal cases, with orders to coordinate proceedings across multiple registered cases."
