This appeal concerns a property dispute following the death of Banta. His daughter Sibo claimed ownership based on a will, but her suit was dismissed as the will was deemed suspicious. The respondent, Satnam Singh, later occupied a portion of the land by constructing a structure. The Supreme Court held that the respondent's possession was permissive, not hostile, and therefore he could not claim adverse possession. The Court allowed the appeal, set aside the High Court's judgment on adverse possession, and directed the appellants to pay Rs. 50,000 to the respondent as compensation for the structure, conditional on vacation within two weeks."
