Joginder Singh and Anr vs State of Punjab and Ors

Bench: 2 — <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

This review petition challenged the Supreme Court's earlier dismissal of a special leave petition regarding an order originally passed by the Collector. The order had been affirmed through successive stages—by the Financial Commissioner in revision, by the Single Judge in a writ petition, and by the High Court (after the Letters Patent Appeal was rejected). When the Supreme Court affirmed the High Court's view, the petitioner sought review. The Court held that review petitions require demonstration of an error apparent on the record. Finding no such error in the grounds raised, the review petition was dismissed.
