In Brief

This suo moto writ petition addressed the implementation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. The Amicus Curiae submitted that POCSO provisions require strict implementation at all investigation and trial stages. The Court directed the Supreme Court Registrar to coordinate with High Court Registries to collect data on pending POCSO cases across districts and their duration, to inform future guidelines.
