In Brief
On 28 July 2001, Kripal Singh and three others attacked Yashwant Kumar, resulting in his death. Kripal Singh also injured Paras Mal. The eyewitness (PW13) testified that Kripal Singh struck Yashwant with an axe on the head. The trial court acquitted the three co-accused but convicted Kripal Singh under Section 302 IPC. The High Court upheld the conviction. The Supreme Court dismissed Kripal Singh's appeal, holding that reliable eyewitness testimony corroborated by medical evidence and recovery of the murder weapon established his guilt beyond reasonable doubt, notwithstanding the acquittal of co-accused.
