In Brief
M. Radha Hari Seshu was convicted of dowry death (Section 304B IPC) and cruelty (Section 498A IPC) and sentenced to life imprisonment plus a fine. While his criminal appeal was pending in the High Court, his bail application was dismissed. The Supreme Court allowed his appeal, setting aside the High Court's order. The Court held that given the appellant's prolonged jail time since December 2016 and the circumstances of the case, suspension of sentence and bail pending the High Court appeal was appropriate, subject to conditions including a restriction on leaving the country.
