Maharashtra Archery Association vs Rahul Mehra and Ors

Bench: 2 — <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

The Supreme Court set aside elections conducted by the Administrator of the Archery Association of India (AAI) on the basis of an amended Constitution. The Court held that all actions taken by the Administrator, including the elections, were null and void. Elections must henceforth be conducted in strict conformity with the Court-approved Constitution. The appeals were allowed, and the matter was remitted to the High Court to consider directions for proper elections and directions to the Union of India to restore recognition to the derecognised AAI.
