Manisha Jain sought transfer of her divorce suit from the Family Court in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh to the Family Court in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The Supreme Court allowed the petition, holding that the petitioner's residence in Dehradun constituted sufficient ground for transfer. The matrimonial suit (Original Suit No. 1125/2019) was accordingly transferred to the Family Court at Dehradun for convenience and better administration of justice.
