Supreme Court of India 2017-04-06 dismissed

Manoj Kumar vs Champa Devi

Bench: 3 — <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

A special leave petition challenged a High Court order on maintenance under Section 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The Supreme Court found that the High Court had correctly applied the settled interpretation of Section 125 as established in its earlier decisions Vanamala and Rohtash Singh. Having consistently held the same view on this provision for over two decades, the Court found no justification to interfere with the High Court's order. The petition was dismissed.
