Mohammed Zubair, a social media user, challenged multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) registered against him under sections concerning hate speech, sedition, and related offences in different Uttar Pradesh police stations. The Supreme Court granted him interim bail with a personal bond of Rs 20,000, transferred all investigations from the Uttar Pradesh Police to Delhi Police's Special Cell, and disbanded a Special Investigation Team. The Court also transferred the completed criminal case to the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Patiala House Courts, and permitted the petitioner to pursue additional remedies under Article 226 of the Constitution or Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure before the High Court of Delhi.
