Bench: 2 — <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

In this matrimonial dispute, Monica and Vikas Sharma reached a settlement agreement after the Supreme Court had directed continuation of criminal trials. The husband sought review of the earlier order on the ground of settlement. The Court, invoking Article 142 of the Constitution, accepted the settlement and directed deposit of Rs. 2.5 crore as full and final settlement. The Court facilitated mutual divorce before the Family Court and authorized withdrawal of criminal complaints under IPC sections 406, 498A, 415, and 417, with the six-month mandatory period waived. The review petitions were disposed of accordingly.
