N. Karthikeyan & Ors vs State of Tamil Nadu & Ors

Bench: 2 — <UNKNOWN>, <UNKNOWN>

In Brief

This judgment concerns the continuation of interim protection previously granted in relation to medical counselling seat allocation in Tamil Nadu. The Supreme Court held that no case was made out to continue the interim protection that was granted for the academic year 2020-2021. The Court directed the DGHS (Directorate General of Health Services) to conduct counselling for the 2021-2022 academic year for Tamil Nadu seats, ensuring compliance with the State's reservation policy as prescribed by Government Order. The interim order dated 27 November 2020 was therefore not extended beyond 2020-2021.
