In this criminal appeal, the accused appellant challenged his murder conviction for killing the deceased during a neighbourhood quarrel. The Supreme Court modified the conviction, holding that although the appellant retaliated after being struck with a stick, the circumstances—including the lack of time gap between the initial and fatal attacks and their proximity—demonstrated the incidents were part of one continuous altercation in the heat of passion, not premeditated murder.
