The National Medical Commission rejected their applications, citing the requirement to complete all training in-person at the same foreign institute. The Supreme Court upheld this decision, holding that clinical training cannot be effectively conducted online and is essential for protecting public health. However, as a one-time measure, the Court directed the NMC to frame a scheme within two months allowing these students to complete actual clinical training in identified Indian medical colleges before being considered for provisional registration.
