Ragila (Accused No. 1) and Nawaz (Accused No. 2) were convicted of murdering Ragila's husband under Section 302 IPC. The Supreme Court partly allowed their appeal, converting the conviction to culpable homicide not amounting to murder under Section 304 Part I IPC. The Court found that the deceased provoked the accused by calling them 'prostitute', depriving them of self-control and resulting in sudden grave provocation. The slap followed immediately by throttling constituted one continuous act. The Court upheld the conviction for concealing the body under Section 201 IPC. Both were sentenced to ten years rigorous imprisonment with concurrent sentences.
