In Brief
A writ petitioner challenged a High Court order denying interim relief in a petition concerning burials in an adjacent cemetery during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Supreme Court, sitting via video conference, disposed of the special leave petition without granting leave to appeal. However, recognizing the urgency and public health concerns raised, the Court directed the High Court to take up and dispose of the underlying writ petition motion as expeditiously as possible, preferably within two weeks. The application for intervention was also disposed of consequentially.
