SARVEPALLI RADHAKRISHNAN UNIVERSITY vs UNION OF INDIA

Bench: 3 — S.A. Bobde, L. Nageswara Rao, R. Subhash Reddy

In Brief

The Supreme Court dismissed the writ petitions filed by RKDF Medical College challenging the cancellation of student admissions for 2017-18. The College fraudulently submitted fabricated patient records, fake faculty attendance, and forged police summons to obtain permission for admissions. An expert committee appointed by the Court confirmed that the College staged false data, including fake patients and manipulated case sheets. The Court held the Dean liable for prosecution under Section 193 IPC for filing false affidavits, barred the College from admissions for two years, imposed a Rs. 5 crore penalty, and directed refund of fees and Rs. 1 lakh compensation to each affected student.
