In Brief
Three individuals—Satyendar Kumar Jain (a Delhi Minister), along with his brothers Ankush and Vaibhav Jain—appealed the Delhi High Court's rejection of their bail applications in a money laundering case. The investigation revealed that Satyendar Kumar Jain conceptualized and supervised a scheme to obtain accommodation entries (fake share investments) totalling approximately Rs. 4.81 crores through shell companies controlled by his family. Ankush and Vaibhav allegedly assisted him by making false income declarations claiming the money as their own. The Supreme Court upheld the High Court's dismissal, finding sufficient prima facie evidence of guilt and holding that the appellants failed to satisfy the mandatory twin conditions for bail under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
