Sheikh Nanhey & Sons & Ors vs Union of India & Ors

Bench: 2 — Kurian

In Brief

The appellants sought renewal of their licences with the Railways. The Supreme Court found that the issue of licence renewal was already governed by the Court's earlier judgment in Civil Appeal Nos. 618-620 of 2016 (29 January 2016). Relying on that precedent, the Court allowed the appeals and writ petitions, directing the Railways to take the necessary steps for licence renewal within six weeks in accordance with the principles laid down in that prior judgment.
