The Supreme Court resolved questions about coordinating activities for vulnerable witnesses—persons whose evidence may be affected by trauma or other vulnerabilities. The Court designated the Ministry of Women and Child Development as the lead coordinating Ministry because vulnerable witnesses are predominantly women and children, falling within its mandate. The Ministry is to work closely with the Chairperson of a Court-appointed Committee, with the Additional Solicitor General facilitating any needed liaison with the Department of Justice. The Court disposed of the application after noting that Committee minutes had been transmitted to the Ministry on 20 April 2022.
