Sunheri and others sought enhanced compensation for land acquired by the State of Haryana. The High Court had awarded Rs. 7,50,000 per acre. The Supreme Court, exercising jurisdiction under Article 136 of the Constitution, allowed the special leave petition and enhanced the compensation to Rs. 7,75,000 per acre. The Court also confirmed the appellants' entitlement to statutory benefits, except for periods attributable to delay. The appeal was disposed of without awarding costs to either party."
