In Brief
In this land acquisition appeal, the Supreme Court granted relief to appellants who challenged the High Court's order regarding release of enhanced compensation awarded by the Reference Court. Following the precedent in Baburao v. State of Maharashtra, the Court directed that 50% of the enhanced compensation be released immediately without security, while the remaining 50% be released only upon furnishing security satisfactory to the Reference Court. The High Court's order was set aside and the appeal allowed.
