In Brief
In this matter, the Supreme Court considered special leave petitions challenging the Kerala High Court's grant of pre-arrest bail to a respondent under Section 438 CrPC. While upholding the High Court's decision to grant bail, the Court modified one condition. It removed the seven-day time restriction on interrogation, allowing the investigating officer to question the respondent beyond 03.07.2022 as and when necessary. The respondent must comply with all other statutory bail conditions and those imposed by the High Court, including restrictions on contacting witnesses, attacking the victim on social media, and surrendering any passport to the investigating officer."
