Multi-crore Fodder scam case: Supreme Court adjourns plea seeking bail cancelation of Lalu Prasad, matter listed for October

Today, the Supreme Court of India adjourned the pleas seeking the cancellation of bail granted to Lalu Prasad (Rashtriya Janata Dal President) in connection with a multi-crore fodder scam filed by CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation). The bench hearing the matter including Justice MM Sundresh and Justice AS Bopanna said “Will hear this on a non-miscellaneous day” as well as questioned why these pleas were listed on August 25 (today). During the court proceedings, the Additional Solicitor General appearing for CBI, SV Raju stated that the matter was mentioned before Chief Justice of India DY Chandracud by the central probe agency seeking urgent listing for the same. Further, Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal appearing for Lalu Prasad stated that “his client has kidney ailment and now the CBI wants to put him back in jail.” After hearing the matter, the bench ordered, “We will hear it …List in October.”
