Delhi government’s excise policy scam: Delhi High Court denies Manish Sisodia’s bail plea

On July 03, 2023, the Delhi High Court denied Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia’s bail plea. AAP Party leader was arrested in a money laundering case in relation to the Delhi government’s excise policy scam. He was arrested on February 26 by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and on February 28 he resigned from his post as Delhi Deputy Chief Minister. The bail plea was dismissed by Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma of the Delhi High Court on the basis of the special court’s earlier rejection of the bail plea. Moreover, Justice Sharma said, “Based on available records, the special court has passed a rational order.” The bail plea was rejected on the ground that the applicant, Manish Sisodia was not eligible for the same.
