Investigation on Hindenburg report against Adani group, a plea to be heard tomorrow: Supreme Court

Today, the Supreme Court agreed to the petition filed by Advocate Vishal Tiwari seeking an urgent listing of the Adani case so as to investigate the report by US-based short-selling firm, Hindenburg. Due to this report, Adani group shares were reduced in the stock market. The plea was mentioned before the Supreme Court bench including Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala, and Justice PS Narasimha. Advocate submitted that “A similar petition is also coming tomorrow. This pertains to the Hindenburg report which has tarnished the image of the country and caused loss. This may be also heard tomorrow with the other matter.” CJI agreed to list the case tomorrow. Another petition mentioned by Advocate Vishal Tiwari is filed by Advocate ML Sharma (serial litigant) seeking investigation against the founder of Hindenburg (Nathan Anderson) “for exploiting innocent investors via short selling under the garb of artificial crashing.”
