In a recent Supreme Court decision, (CJI) Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud ordered to issue an interim order allowing a candidate who suffers from writer’s cramp to use a scribe during his preliminary examination for Uttarakhand civil judges recruitment. Hearing this,  He tweeted “This is such a heartwarming action by Hon’ble Chief Justice Dr. DY Chandrachud. A great relief to a Divyang candidate who sought a scribe for the Judicial Service exam in Uttarakhand. AIIMS had certified his disability. Timely Justice to a deserving person is very satisfying.” A writer’s cramp is a condition in which a person’s ability to write is affected because of task-specific movement disorders. This causes abnormal postures and unwanted muscle spasms that impede motor performance.
