SC Collegium Approves Proposal for a Series of Judicial Appointments in Karnataka, Madras, Himachal Pradesh, and Tripura High Courts

In a meeting held on September 15, 2025, the Supreme Court (SC) Collegium, constituting Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai, Justice Surya Kant, Justice JK Maheshwari, Justice BV Nagarathna, and Justice Vikram Nath, approved the proposal for a series of judicial appointments in four High Courts. The Collegium has approved the appointment of four Additional Judges as Permanent Judges in the Karnataka, Madras, and Tripura High Courts. The Collegium also approved the appointment of 3 Judicial Officers as Judges of the Karnataka High Court (HC). It also issues a resolution approving the proposal for the appointment of two Advocates as Judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court. The SC Collegium passed a different resolution for every appointment. 

Appointments in Karnataka High Court

Additional Judge Shri Justice Kurubarahalli Venkataramareddy Aravind, appointed as a Permanent Judge.

Judicial Officers Smt. Geetha Kadaba Bharatharaja Setty, Shri Muralidhara Pai Borkatte, and Shri Tyagaraja Narayan Inavally, appointed as Judges.

Appointments in Himachal Pradesh High Court

Advocate Shri Jiya Lal Bhardwaj and Advocate Shri Romesh Verma appointed as Judges.

Appointments in Tripura High Court

Additional Judge Justice Biswajit Palit, appointed as a Permanent Judge.

Appointments in Madras High Court

Additional Judges Shri Justice N. Senthilkumar and Shri Justice G. Arul Murugan, appointed as Permanent Judges.
