Stray Dog Menace: Supreme Court lists the matter for final hearing on February 28, 2024

On January 10, 2024 (Wednesday), the two-judge bench of the Supreme Court (SC) of India listed the matter concerning stray dog menace in the country for a final hearing on February 28, 2024. While posting the matter, Justice J.K. Maheshwari and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia said “Accordingly, we will hear, and that will serve the purpose. It may go on for two days or three days, whatever it is, but let it go in this way. Thereby, we can justify which is the correct view…” The SC will hear all the petitions related to curbing stray dog attacks in different states of the country including KeralaBombayKarnataka, and Himachal Pradesh. During the proceedings yesterday (January 10), the SC asked the parties involved to prepare the concerned issues, related laws, observations, and views taken by different High Courts.
