Supreme Court Collegium Appoints 14 Judicial Officers and 12 Advocates as Judges of the Allahabad High Court

On September 01, 2025, the Supreme Court (SC) Collegium issued two resolutions approving the proposal for the appointment of 12 Advocates and 14 Judicial Officers as Judges of the Allahabad High Court. The SC Collegium, constituting Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai,  Justice Surya Kant, Justice JK Maheshwari, Justice Vikram Nath, and Justice BV Nagarathna. One resolution passed by the Collegium reads, “The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 01st September, 2025, has approved the proposal for appointment of the following Judicial Officers as Judges of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad:

  1. Dr. Ajay Kumar- II,
  2. Shri Chawan Prakash,
  3. Shri Divesh Chandra Samant,
  4. Shri Prashant Mishra-I,
  5. Shri Tarun Saxena,
  6. Shri Rajeev Bharti,
  7. Shri Padam Narain Mishra,
  8. Shri Lakshmi Kant Shukla,
  9. Shri Jai Prakash Tiwari,
  10. Shri Devendra Singh-I,
  11. Shri Sanjiv Kumar,
  12. Smt. Vani Ranjan Agrawal,
  13. Shri Achal Sachdev, and
  14. Smt. Babita Rani.”

Another resolution, passed on the same date, highlighted the names of the advocates appointed as judges of the Allahabad High Court. “The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on 01st September, 2025, has approved the proposal for appointment of the following Advocates as Judges of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad:

  1. Shri Vivek Saran,
  2. Shri Adnan Ahmad,
  3. Shri Vivek Kumar Singh,
  4. Smt. Garima Prashad,
  5. Shri Sudhanshu Chauhan,
  6. Shri Abdhesh Kumar Chaudhary,
  7. Smt. Swarupama Chaturvedi,
  8. Shri Jai Krishna Upadhyay,
  9. Shri Siddharth Nandan,
  10. Shri Kunal Ravi Singh,
  11. Shri Indrajeet Shukla, and
  12. Shri Satya Veer Singh.”
