Supreme Court grants interim bail on medical grounds to Nawab Malik in a money laundering case

Today (July 30), the Supreme Court (SC) granted interim bail on medical grounds to former Maharashtra Cabinet Minister and NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) leader Nawab Malik in a money laundering case. During the proceedings, the bench was told by the counsel appearing for Nawab Malik that he was suffering from various ailments. The SC bench constituting Justice Bela M Trivedi and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma said the medical bail granted to Malik will be valid till disposal of the regular bail plea before the Bombay High Court (HC). The Counsel appearing for the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, did not oppose the grant of bail and suggested making Malik’s medical bail absolute.
